With Commissioner Paulo Burnier’s mandate ending on July 16, 2019, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) announced the suspension of the procedural deadlines, outlined in Law No. 12529/2011, until the quorum of the Tribunal is restored.

In May, the President of the Republic indicated the economist Leonardo Bandeira Rezende and the prosecutor Vinicius Klein to respectively replace former Commissioners Polyanna Vilanova and João Paulo de Resende, whose terms also ended in July. For the nominees to take office, their names must be approved by the Federal Senate in a session to be scheduled.
