The Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that the transport app company must adapt to the laws of each country of the block for transport services, as an inherent part of the transport systems of the various locations where it operates. Thus, each one of the 28 countries of the European Union from now on can regulate the conditions under which Uber can operate.
This demonstrates how Uber will now be treated within the block as a transport company and no longer as a mere shared transport app.
The case had begun after a complaint from taxi drivers from Barcelona.
