Resolution n. 67/2020 from the Brazilian Foreign Trade Chamber (CAMEX) of the Ministry of Economy was published yesterday (13.07), expanding the list of items granted a temporary reduction to zero of the import tax. The expansion includes thirty-four medications and two other products used in the combat against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Medication featured in the resolution include vermicides (ivermectin and nitazoxanide), anticoagulants (including warfarin, apixaban, and dabigatran), and anesthetics (atracurium besilate, pancuronium bromide, and vecuronium bromide). In addition, other products granted import tax reductions include equipment to produce disposable masks and blood collection bags. The complete list can be found here.
The tax reduction entered into effect today (14.07), and it should remain valid until July 30, 2020.
