Otávio Augusto represents clients in various matters related to antitrust/competition law, competition compliance, and international trade. He has experience in the analysis of merger control cases, unilateral conduct, coordinated practices, and cartels, as well as other proceedings before the Tribunal of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) and CADE’s General Superintendence. He is qualified to act in all types of administrative proceedings conducted by the authority, including merger filings, sanctioning procedures, and settlement negotiations. He has completed an advanced course in mergers and acquisitions at FIA Business School. He previously served as an Advisor and Acting Chief of Staff at CADE’s Administrative Tribunal.

Otávio Augusto is a Master’s candidate in Economic Law and Development at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the same institution. He was also a teaching assistant for the courses on Competition Law and Digital Markets at UFMG and participated in the Research Group on Regulation, Antitrust, and Public Policies, also at UFMG. He was an international student at Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina (2019-2020), and at the Master’s program of the University of Lisbon, Portugal (2020-2021).
