Otávio Augusto represents clients in various matters related to antitrust/competition, competition compliance, and international trade.
He has extensive experience in all types of administrative proceedings conducted by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), including merger reviews, sanctioning proceedings, and agreement negotiations, both before CADE’s General Superintendence and its Administrative Tribunal. He is a former CADE public servant and participated in the 41st PinCADE program in 2022.

He also completed an advanced course on mergers and acquisitions offered by FIA Business School in partnership with CADE, in addition to various courses and workshops on competition-related topics (Grupo de Agencias de Competencia de América – GrACA, OECD, CADE, IBRAC, among others).

Otávio Augusto is a Master’s candidate in Economic Law and Development at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and holds a Law degree from the same institution. He also served as a teaching assistant in the subjects of Competition Law and Digital Markets at UFMG and was a member of the Study Group on Regulation, Antitrust, and Public Policies at UFMG.

He was an international student at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina, from 2019 to 2020, and an international Master’s student at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, from 2020 to 2021.

  • Speaker and runner-up in the 1st Competition Law Moot Court Competition organized by CADE and WIA, also winning the Best Defense Memorial award.
