GCA is ranked as a Tier 1 Antitrust law firm by The Legal 500 ranking


GCA was ranked by the Legal 500 as a Tier 1 Law Firm in Competition and Antitrust Law. According to the publication, besides covering the gamut of competition law, the firm “has additional expertise in international trade and anti-corruption”, additionally emphasizing that “the firm further expanded its scope in April 2018 when it hired data protection and digital law expert Ana Carolina Cagnoni.” The Legal 500 points out the fact that “household name companies, including many with global operations, turn to the team for advice and representation in complex cartel cases, unilateral conduct investigations and merger filings.”

Leonor Cordovil and Karen Ruback’s work on the acquisition of 21st Century Fox by The Walt Disney Company were highlighted. Moreover, Leonor Cordovil and Ricardo Motta’s representation of BTG Pactual in an investigation into an alleged cartel in the onshore foreign exchange market were also pointed out. The ranking also states, “among a long list of recent highlights was the team’s representation of ArcelorMittal Brasil in a public interest investigation and administrative appeal concerning antidumping levies imposed against imports of graphite electrodes from China.” In this case, Leonor Cordovil and Ricardo Motta who led the advice, had their work complimented. Furthermore, Ricardo Motta was appointed as a Next Generation Lawyer and Bernardo Leite mentioned as key senior associate.
